2. Objectives


Once the mission and scope of a firm have been defined by the top management the next logical step is to translate them into action. This can be done by breaking down the business mission into smaller, workable objectives for managers down the line. These objectives relate to the long-run and are described as open ended attributes.  

Objectives may be set for different levels: 
  1. Corporate level, 
  2. Business level, 
  3. Divisional level 
  4. Individual level. 
These must certainly be compatible with each other and seek the fulfilment of the firm's mission.
